Jemma Alix Levy (she/her/hers) is a stage director who has been working for over 25 years in both professional and academic settings.  She is particularly interested in the use of direct address and the audience-performer relationship in both contemporary theatre and in the work of Shakespeare and other playwrights from that time period.  Her directing work runs the gamut from ancient Greek texts to contemporary musicals to working with playwrights on new scripts.  Founder and former Artistic Director of Muse of Fire Theatre Company, she is also a playwright and adaptor, and a certified Consent-Forward Artist.  In addition to her directing work, Ms. Levy is an Associate Professor of Theater (specializing in Acting and Directing) at Washington and Lee University.

O, for a muse of fire that would ascend
The brightest heaven of invention:
A kingdom for a stage, princes to act,
And monarchs to behold the swelling scene.
